I believe it was made in 1947. It has a Vertical Orientation and measures: 18 X 72. This awesome sign is embossed and has a higher embossed edge.
The crazy thing about this sign is that it came from a stack that would have been the largest pile of signs I had ever found in one place. They were wedged in between a furnace and wall in the basement and were blocked in with pallets of old oil. I could tell that they were signs, and I could see that there were a lot of them.
Unfortunately, when we finally dug through to where they were sitting, we found that for 50 years or so, they had been sitting with a constant drip from above and most of the signs were just eaten straight though with rust. They still had the paper separating them. This is one of the.
Salvageable ones that were left. This is one of the last ones I have left and priced accordingly. As far as condition goes, It oozes character and patina. If you like the signs that show their age, this ones for you!Its very displayable and FAR from a basket case. There is some rust along the left edge and top, some bubbling of the paint. Its not shiny but still has great orange color. The paint is a little flaky but, for the most part affixed well.
I'll do my best to show the condition in photos. This sign would look great in any collection, garage, shop, bar, restaurant, man cave, retail or re-sale!
